We are a local well established family practice and have been in existence on the Downham estate since 1954. We moved to our current premises at The Downham Health and Leisure Centre in September 2007. Our health professionals are committed to providing a high standard of care under the NHS.
Our aim is to provide a high quality, caring and personal health care service to our whole patient population by:

Important Merger update
Dear Patients,
We are pleased to inform you that Burnt Ash Surgery and Downham Family Medical Practice will officially merge on Monday, 16th September to form the Ashdown Medical Group.
This merger will provide more flexibility and convenience, as you will now have the opportunity to see any of our clinicians across both sites, increasing the availability of appointments. For the past two years, our staff have been working collaboratively to support patients at both locations, so you should experience minimal change to your care.
Both sites will remain open, and you can continue to reach us at the same contact number. There will be no changes to the clinical or reception staff at either location, ensuring the same familiar faces or high standard of care.
Please note that while the merger takes place over the weekend of 14th/15th September and finalises on the 16th, there may be some disruption to your online requests and prescriptions. We are working hard to keep any inconvenience to a minimum.
